Q: How does camera security work for table games at casinos?
What's the level of internal control like for table games [in casinos]? I know each table has a camera above it. Is there a security personnel for EACH table monitoring the activity? And is there another security personnel watching the other security personnel that's watching the dealer, and so fourth? Just curious.
A: Depending on how big the casino is will determine the amount of people watching the cameras. Each bulb above your head in a casino has 4 other cameras in it or 1 mobile camera. The people who operate them can scan a person or play at anytime. Usually the floor person or pit boss will notify the sercurity above aslo known as the eye in the sky as to a certain person or game to watch. My advice dont try to cheat you will get caught. I worked as a pit boss for 15 years you wont get away with it. Just about every spot except for the bathrooms are under watch.

Q: What security camera would be work the best?
I am looking for a security camera that records all of the time. I don't know what would be best for that to go to the internet or dvd. I have no knowledge at all on these. Someone please help me.
A: all depends on how much money you want to spend, the most expensive route is to get a dedicated DVR and camera package from Swann or Lorex, anywhere from $600 on up, you could also get IP security cams from Wilife and Swann. the cheapest option is to get a DVR pci card and convert an obsolete PC to a DVR. I use a Swann DVR PC guard card with a Swann bullet cam and a lorex BW all weather cam. the card is installed on an old athlon xp 2500 computer with a wireless card up in my attic, i acces via web. the swann card has good clear instructions on how to do this.
Q: What is the best security camera to use in a bar or nightclub that is minimally lit?
We are looking for the best in a security camera system with which to monitor bartenders that we suspect of not charging properly. The camera should be able to pick up such activity but not stand out in the bar.
A: http://www.boschsecurity.us/images/DinionXFDN_lg.jpg Try this camera I have installed them in a number of locations in very dark areas. The low light performance is great and the picture quality is sharp. You can use a number of different lens on the camera to get the picture you want.

Most of my time is spent downstairs and I would like to see what is taking place upstairs in my home. A camera which revolves so it shows the living room, hallway, dining room area and also the bedrooms upstairs.
A: RADIO SHACK SELLS SEVERAL SECURITY CAMERAS. CHECK THE WEB SITE, THEY HAVE A LOT OF STUFF THAT MIGHT BE WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING FOR...
Q: What is the BEST security camera I could get to monitor my driveway?
My tires got slashed. I know who did it, but have no proof. I need a security camera for outside. I would prefer for it to have a motion detector. Color doesn't matter & sound doesn't matter. I need it to be the lowest cost as possible. Thanks!
A: I don't know if the best is right, but certainly the easiest to install at the lowest price is the X-10 brand.
Q: What is the maximum length for a security camera cable from the cam to the DVR?
I am planning to install a security camera at home so I can keep watch over our house even when I'm not there. Problem is, the gate is quite far from our house. What is the maximum length for a security camera cable from the cam to the DVR?
A: If you are using RG59U coaxial cable, maximum recommended length is about 750'. With RG6U cable, you can go about 1500'.
If you are going more than 250' or so, it often makes sense to use a UTP transmission system, such as the one made by NVT http://www.nvt.com
These systems allow you to use twisted-pair cable instead of coaxial cable. This is often less expensive and easier to install when the camera is more than short distance away from the DVR.
Q: How do I hook up a security camera to my computer, to record?
I have a security camera in my studio but I want to record the video to a computer hard drive instead of a stupid 6 hour VHS tape. How would I go about doing this? The camera provides an A/V type output cord. (red and yellow) Please help me. Thanks.
A: well if it is recording to tape it is an analog camera and not digital, therefore you will have to get a convertor in order to get the footage to a computer. you will also need a video editing/capturing program. and if you are recording that many hours, you will need a serious external hard drive to store it all on!
Q: Does a security camera that uploads to a web server or ftp without a computer exist?
I want to have an always-on motion activated security camera that supports wifi or even wired ethernet that can upload to a web server or ftp. I don't want to leave my computer on all the time.
A: Yes. They are called IP or Network cameras.
http://video-insight.com/Purchase/Security-Cameras/IP-Cameras.aspx
Here are a few. I actually work for this company. Funny I ran across your post while answering miscellaneous questions. If you ordered from us, your camera would likely pass through my hands.
Another guy mentioned Netbotz. They are proprietary. If you want temperature readings from them, you need to buy their whole system. If you're going to do that, they are not the best. Pelco dominates the high end of this market, but they cost a fortune. If you want what you asked for which is just a camera by itself with a lot of uploading options and motion detection, I suggest a network camera by Toshiba, Canon, Axis, or Vivotek. If you want insane resolution as well, look at IQ Eye (but costly).

Q: What is a good security camera setup for me?
i am having trouble with things missing, and today i had my chrome wheel fall off while im driving because someone tried to steal it luckily the rear tire didnt come loose and chevrolet they tampered with the rear too,but my motrcycle and truck are 10 15 feet away from my upstairs window, i have a computer, and a high def tv,what type of security camera would be good for evidense and protection???
A: You can't watch the cameras or monitor(s) 24/7.
If you get a camera or two or four and connect them to a multichannel security DVR (with a hard drive), you can set up motion triggers for all sorts of stuff...
You didn't tell us what computer, so it would be possible to use that, but video or stills over time will use lots of space, so if you decide to use the computer, then an external drive for the surveillance photos or video is suggested.
You can look at the low-end at x10.com or you can do consumer grade video surveillance from a number of sources. I like Frys. Go to their web site - on the tabs under "Electronic Components" select "Security" then "Closed Circuit Television"... and CCTV kits, Recorders, Wired and Wireless cameras...
What is your budget? Does the camera need night vision?
Good luck...

Q: What are the consequences of hacking into an Internet Security Camera?
I came across this code you type in on the Google search engine that enables you to view live security cameras. The security cameras are hooked to a network, but you have to click on an IP address to view that camera. I was wondering if anyone has heard of this, and if I can get into trouble doing this? What are the consequences? If the code is made available to the public, why would it be illegal?
A: Yes, they have the option to set a password, and 90% of the time they don't so a supervisor can view the workers without having to actually go to the site.
