which is the best internet security? i used to use kaspersky internet security. it was good. but i wanna change it.
A: Not sure there is a best--for all systems, all times, and all users.
Also, I am not a fan of all-in-one security packages.
You need a firewall, an antivirus program, and spyware protection (detection and removal at least; some provide real-time protection as well).

Q: Internet Security Suite ~ How often should I scan for viruses and spyware?
I'm using Verizon's Internet Security Suite which contains anti virus and anti spyware along with a firewall. I wish to set the system for scheduled scanning. I'm using Windows xp.
1) How often should I scan for viruses and spyware?
2) A scheduled scan won't take place if my pc is off.
3) Will it run if the pc is in hybernation mode?
4) Any drawbacks to leaving my pc in hybernation mode when I'm not using it instead of closing down all pc stuff

start up options - hibernate - shut down -screen saver password
go to start at bottom of screen in blue bar (task bar)
go to control panel
choose power options
choose never to all listed there or the settings you want
choose apply then choose ok
if you want to hibernate
then choose hibernate
click advanced choose hibernate
then click hibernate
click enable hibernate
make sure you click apply and ok to everything
also click advanced tab choose show icon on desk top
then you can push power button
windows will close
push button again and you are where you was again
computer does not have to do all that work again
password protected screen saver is good
i use it my self
do this by
close all windows
right click on open area of desk top
choose properties
choose screen saver
choose password protect on resume
this will be your password as you are the administrator
be sure to set the time for screen saver to come on
or and
press the windows key logo + L at the same time located on the key bord
to lock it. when you unlock it will ask for password
this will be your password as you are the administrator
Q: Whats the difference between Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 and Anti-Virus 2009?
My laptops playing up a bit. Slowing down and internet explorer is freezing up as well. Thinking about un-installing avast and using kaspersky trial version to see if anything odd turns up. But I can't decide between the internet security and the anti-virus.

A: omg i had dial up for most of my years and IT WAS A PAIN!! the money you spend on high speed internet is soooooo worth it! i have a router its just to be able to use the internet on other computers to and no cord is needed. Norton slows down computers from what ive heard after my comp slowed, get Mcaffee

I just bought the McAfee Internet security suite because we have a virus in our computer. Is it safe to install? Will it remove all viruses in the computer?
A: Yes, it's completely safe. When you install McAfee, it will quick scan for viruses automatically during the installation. I use McAfee so I know, and it does not suck like what the other person said. Just know that it might not remove all viruses as there is no single program that can do that. The best program which is Avira, has a detection rate of 99.7%, and that is the best. But, it probably will get rid of all the common ones and most on your computer. I recommend you to also get Ad-Aware 2008 to run along with McAfee like me to remove any spyware cause McAfee takes hours to finish scans.

I have zonealarm pro and ESET NOD32 trial but I would like a internet security suite good all round any suggestions.
When I mean good all round I mean good all round protection. ex. decent firewall, anti-Virus and anti- spyware.
A: I personally would never have a "suite" which is a complete package which has every security feature bundled together!..
I and most people i know just use a separate component for each..ie..One or two Anti Spy ware programs but one decent one is fine! and only one Anti virus program, firewall and a good browser always complements a PCs security such as firefox..

Hi, I bought a brand new hp pavilion laptop with norton internet security Antivirus, I tryed to remove it and replace with another type of antivirus but it does not want to remove. I tryed through add/remove, programe file and regedit but could not.
A: Start menu, then click search, then in the file name box put norton. This will bring up a list of all the files on the pc with norton as part of the file name. Delete all of them, and empty the recycle bin. This should take care of the problem.

A: You will probably have to get the downloads some other way and try to install it from a portable device like USB
If you don't have an internet on that computer than mayby you should get Kaspersky Anti-virus only, because it will be cheaper and you don't need the extra things with Kaspersky internet Security.

Q: Do i have to install Norton Internet security 3PC at once or i can install it at different times?
