Q: Whats the best FREE internet security software?
I currently use Kaspersky Internet Security, i just keep downloading the trial for 3 months, anyone got any FREE suggestions, would i have to use multiple programs to get maximum protection from threats, many people say to use Avast or AVG what are they like?

A: Get Kaspersky Internet security 2009 for free for ever. No Joke.
Open a free current account with Barclays bank, the follow the links via barclays web site to get a free years license for Kaspersky, (3 computer license), next year Barclay's and Kaspersky will offer another free license and so on.
The free programs are a joke once your used to a quality product like kaspersky.
Any how other free progrs like . Avast / Avira or AVG just offer anti-virus only and have restrictions that are unlocked once you upgrade to the paid edition

I have Kaspersky for free via Barclays, just a balance of £5 left in the account.. Bargain
Also HSBC bank give their customers McAfee security suite (if they ask), but Kaspersky is better.
Marry Xmas, always good to get something for free from your bank, a refreshing change, look it up on banks web sites, takes about a week to get the license code via e-mail.

Q: What free internet security programs to download to match the safety coverage of Nortons?
So I've been told that Nortons is too slow and lacks reliabilty... I scanned with AVG and found a bunch of virus'... I've decided I'd like to completly switch over. What free programs are better then Nortons? I'd have AVG for anti virus, ZoneAlarm for firewall, and what other types of programs would I need?

A: I use avg from grisoft It's totally free and they have a spyware , root toolkit and a virus scanner you can download free and it really works. You have to disable other antivirus scanners so they won't mess each other up. I'll add the link for you good luck

there r only 3 free active AS app's i know of
windows defender,spyware doctor and spyware terminator
spyware doctor free version has 40,000 less definitions in its database tahn the paid version so i can't recommend it
spyware terminator has low detection rates is a royal pain to uninstall and takes up just as much resources as the otherstake up resources like the others and most people bash it becaue its from microsoft but it does its job

1. For your Anti-Virus......(Always use only 1 A-V)
For your anti-virus needs, I would suggest Avira AntiVir® PersonalEdition Classic. It has excellent heuristics, a virus detection rate that is better than many of "paid-for" anti-virus programs and is light on using your computer's resources. And did I mention that it's free!

An excellent free firewall is Comodo Personal Firewall. It can pass firewall "leak tests" that even most of the "paid-for" firewalls cannot pass.

3. For your Anti-Adware and Anti-Spyware needs...............(use 2)
Pick and choose, 2 anti-spywares from the list below and alternate scanning with them on a regular basis. New spywares are created literally hourly, so no single anti-spyware can really detect all malware. Have at least 2 on hand and alternate scanning with each every few days or so. All are free. All can remove as well as detect.

Most people would suggest you AVG, Avast, Avira, or multiple programs, but most don't know they can get McAfee for free. For instance if I download a free trial for Internet Security or an Antivirus Program, which runs for 30 days or so, what will happen after the 30 days is up? Does it get automatically deleted itself or would I have to do it myself?
Also, is it possible for me to download the same or a different trial every 30 days? Is this a good idea? And can you please give me some helpful tips about this?
